The release of a liquid drug, centperazine, from film coated and encoated matrix tablets was studied. Ratio of light magnesium oxide (adsorbent) to drug showed no significant effect on drug release. Preliminary data on the release profiles of tablets coated with Eudragit RL and RS resins indicate that if eudragit RL is present in the film, the release of centperazine may be independent of thickness of film and the ratio of two resins in the film.
