A simple, precise and rapid HPTLC method is developed for the simultaneous determination of amitriptyline hydrochloride and chlordiazepoxide from tablets using chlroform: methanol: ammonia (92:8:0.2 v/v) as a mobile phase. Metronidazole is used as internal standard. RF values obtained were 0.31, 0.40, 0.53, for metronidazole, chloridizepoxide and amitriptyline hydrochloride respectively.
