Piroxicam (PXM) is an analgesic, antipyretic and antiinflammatory agent, practically insoluble in water1. The increase in aqueous solubility of PXM using hydrotropes and cosoivents and formulation of its aqueous injections have been reported earlier2. These formulations were further evaluated in vitro (physical evaluation and haemolytic activity) and in vivo (pharmacokinetic studies). Some of the formulation have shown promising results.
