The volatile constituents of the whole herb of Coleus amboininus Lour (Labiatae) were analyzed by GC-MS following isolation by hydrodistillation. Ten compounds were identified among which carvacrol (50.7 %) γ-caryophyllene (13.1 %) and patchoulane (8.7%) were dominant.
