The differential pulse polarographic behaviour of dantpolene has been investigated over the pH range 2.0 to 12.0. The best defined peaks for the determination of the title compound are obtained in the buffer of 4 greater than pH less than 6. This technique has been applied to the determination of dantrolene in pharmaceutical formulations. Both standard addition and calibration methods are used. The lower detection limit is found to be 25 ngml(-1). The method is accurate and reproducible with 98.9 percent - 99.6 percent +/- 0.7.
