Two formulations of controlled release hydrophillic matrix tablets of salbutamol sulphate based on Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose and its combination with guar gum have been reported. Formulations showing an appropriate in vitro release pattern were evaluated for in vitro activity and have exhibited a sustained bronchodilatory effect. Accelerated stability studies indicate that storage of these formulations at high temprature and humidity should be avoided.
